KERALA, Kerala — A job hunt is in the offing for hunters in the state, with job losses on the rise.
The Hunter and Fishermen (HFC) Federation (HFA) said there is a lot of concern among hunters in Kerala about the impact of the drought and the impact that the loss of hunting jobs will have on the state’s economy.
“There is a feeling among many hunters that hunting will be at risk and the HFC is worried about the jobs of hunters,” HFC president Dr. Sanjay Rana said.
HFA said the recent drought has also caused job losses among fishers and hunters in other parts of the state.
Hunters have been losing jobs to seasonal jobs and the loss in their livelihoods, according to Rana.
Rana said the state government is doing everything it can to reduce the impact on the economy.
