Hunters Council jobs on the decline

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.

— Hunters Councils job hunting scams are back on the radar.

The city of Huntsville announced Tuesday that it will suspend the hunt trucking industry after more than 1,500 jobs were lost in the past year, the Huntsville News-Sentinel reported.

The council voted last year to suspend the trucking business after a series of job losses, including those in the truck and farm industries.

The council has said it has not made a decision on whether to rehire the company.

The Huntsville Chamber of Commerce issued a statement Wednesday saying it’s “extremely disappointed” by the council’s decision.

“The Chamber of Business of Hunts County applauds the council for taking a strong stand to keep our jobs in Huntsville,” the statement said.

“We remain committed to working with our local businesses and government to find the right solution to this difficult problem.

The City of Huntsburg and the Huntsburg Police Department are working together to find a solution to the situation.”

Huntsville is home to nearly 1.4 million people.
